The Centre forInternational Programmes of the “Campus Studi del Mediterraneo” Foundation, located in the hills of Tuscany overlooking the Apuan Alps, is now available for universities, colleges, students and scholars, offering residential University Programmes. The centre is a modern facility in the Lucca province, 58 kms from Pisa and 110 kms from Florence, with all the comforts of an international campus.
The Centre is situated in a protected wilderness park of approximately 5000 acres, 600 metres above sea level and far from urban stress and pollution. In this magical place students can concentrate and focus, learn, communicate and share as well as unwind in a splendid forest setting surrounded by nature and a wide range of comfortable facilities and sports such as swimming, horseback riding and trekking. At the same time the centre offers modern standards for learning, such as WiFi and comfortable classroom and conference facilities accommodating up to 500 students. Within the estate students and faculty can choose from the following accommodation: College-style residences, Apartments, Chalets and a Four-star hotel.
Our centre is receptive to your input and will support you in the organization of courses or seminars held directly by your own professors and faculty or field trips for your students all year round.
Additionally we propose Italian language packages with mother-tongue instructors, a retreat setting for individual work (such as writing, art, music), team-building or sports and fitness, and specialized courses (such as painting, writing, local traditions, opera appreciation).
The Centre is coordinated by Dr. Norma Bishop (Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from The Pennsylvania State University).
